![]() ![]() In one sense life gives us the freedom to pursue happiness. Most people agree about the meaning of life and liberty. It remains to this day the most profound, self-evident, and-to sovereigns everywhere, the most gut-wrenching-sentence ever penned and declared by the citizenry of any country. This, the second sentence in the Preamble of the Declaration of Independence, has been called one of the best-known sentences in the English language. ![]() These three aspects are listed among the "unalienable rights" or sovereign rights of man. We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
